SALARY: $75,000 - $84,000, bonus eligible

SHIFT: Rotating

ABOUT ELYSIAN BREWING:

We opened the doors to Elysian Brewing in 1996 when bold art and music defined Seattle. Over the past 25 years, we've carried this same spirit in the way we brew our beer - shaking up classic styles, using unusual ingredients, and learning from experimentation. We push creativity beyond the brews. Each beer label is made by our in-house team who pull inspiration from design, photography, clay, paint, needlepoint, and even the occasional tattoo. ROLE SUMMARY:

Seeking a General Manager to oversee all staff, budgets, and operations of the local business unit. General Manager responsibilities include formulating overall strategy, managing people and establishing policies. To be successful in this role, you should be a thoughtful leader and a confident decision-maker, helping our people develop and be productive, while ensuring our profits are on the rise.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Operations

  • Understands execution and flow of dining services for the restaurant.
  • Design strategy and set goals for growth.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan and execute event functions timely and
  • profitably.
  • Creates and follows policies, procedures, and service standards.
  • Follows all safety and sanitation policies when handling food and beverage.
  • Provide solutions to issues (e.g. profit decline, employee conflicts, loss of business to competitors).
  • Prepare regular reports for upper management.
  • Ensure staff follows health and safety regulations.

Personnel?

  • Inspire and mentor all team members towards the goal of reaching their full potential.
  • Develop training plans for high performing team members.
  • Aides in conducting routine reviews and gives guidance to team members.
  • Demonstrate professional conduct with all colleagues, with the ability to remain calm in stressful situations.
  • Ability to positively impact and collaborate with upper management and other departments.
  • Leads by example when completing job requirements, works with a sense of purpose, consolidates tasks, delegates, and empowers others when doing so.
  • Fosters a positive and productive work environment free of drama and negativity.
  • Proficient with scheduling and assessing labor needs based on business levels.
  • Follows all laws relating to labor practices.
  • Oversees disciplinary action, promotion, hiring, and termination of staff.

Financial

  • Maintain an acceptable COG percentage in accordance with budget and sales projections based on guidance from upper management.
  • Maintains an acceptable labor cost percentage in accordance with budget and sales projections based on guidance from upper management.
  • Adept at understanding sales, expenses, and profitability of the operation.
  • Accountable for the cleanliness and maintenance of all equipment.
  • Utilizes current systems for proper ordering of product and equipment.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 3-5 years experience as a General Manager or similar executive role.
  • Strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities. Highly responsible & reliable.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in an ever-changing environment.
  • Ability to work cohesively as part of a team.
  • Ability to focus attention on needs of the restaurant, always remaining calm and courteous.
  • Knowledge of business process and functions (finance, HR, operations etc.).
  • Strong analytical ability.
