SALARY: $79,200-$94,020, Bonus Eligible.

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Technical Operations Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations on the production floor, ensuring the efficient manufacturing of cans while meeting quality standards, safety regulations, and production targets. This role involves direct leadership of a team of machine operators, technicians, and other production personnel, and it requires strong problem-solving skills, the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly, and the capability to implement improvements in the manufacturing process. The job will also oversee the inventory of metal materials, ensuring proper stock levels, and performing troubleshooting tasks related to inventory discrepancies, quality issues, and operational challenges. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills to manage metal inventory efficiently, troubleshoot problems, and collaborate with production, quality, and supply chain teams to maintain smooth operations.

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Team Leadership & Supervision:
    • Lead, motivate, and supervise a team of machine operators, production workers, and support staff in the can manufacturing department.
    • Provide guidance and training to team members to ensure compliance with operational procedures, safety standards, and quality expectations.
    • Monitor employee performance, provide feedback, and conduct performance reviews.
    • Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and resolve any personnel issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Quality Control & Compliance:
    • Ensure all Metal/cans meet company and regulatory quality standards by monitoring quality control procedures, performing inspections, and addressing defects.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any production issues related to metal/can defects, machinery malfunctions, or process inefficiencies.
    • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to conduct periodic audits and implement corrective actions when necessary.
    • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations in the manufacturing area.
  • Safety & Maintenance:
    • Enforce adherence to safety protocols and ensure that all team members are trained in safe work practices.
    • Conduct regular safety checks and address any hazards in the work environment.
    • Coordinate with maintenance teams to ensure that production equipment is properly maintained, minimizing downtime and extending the lifespan of machinery.
    • Lead or participate in root-cause analysis and troubleshooting of equipment failures or production stoppages.
  • Inventory & Supply Management:
    • Monitor and manage inventory levels of raw materials (e.g., aluminum sheets, coatings) and ensure that production can proceed without interruptions.
    • Perform routine cycle counts and audits to ensure accuracy of inventory data.
    • Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams to order and replenish metal stock as needed.
    • Maintain proper storage and organization of metal materials to ensure safety and minimize loss. Investigate and troubleshoot inventory discrepancies, identifying root causes of issues such as stockouts, overstocking, or material damage.
    • Work with production, quality control, and logistics teams to resolve issues related to metal quality, delivery delays, and inventory errors.
    • Analyze trends and patterns in inventory issues and suggest preventive measures to improve accuracy and efficiency.
    • Assist in the resolution of operational problems that may affect the flow of metal materials, such as equipment failures or transportation delays.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred. Equivalent work experience may be considered.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in Manufacturing Environment
  • Experience with inventory management software and tools
  • Strong understanding of metal manufacturing processes
