ROLE SUMMARY:
The Controller focuses on maximizing return on finances by establishing policies, procedures, controls and reporting systems. The Controller also manages the budget, makes recommendations on financial matters, works with banking agencies, ensures compliant control processes and oversees staff to protect the company’s financial well-being. In addition, this position is accountable for managing the monthly close as well as all financial reporting.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Establishes control policies and maintains accountability for policy alignment; Meets with staff regularly to ensure compliance to policies and procedures and ensures a strong internal control environment that complies with GAAP, SOX and AB InBev accounting policies.
- Responsible for providing status of financial condition by collecting, interpreting, and reporting financial data – including but not limited to management of month close activities, ZBB, cash flow, Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable, Tasting Room and distillery operations, annual budgeting processes; Recommends paths to financial improvements to Senior Management.
- Maintain strong relationships within the Distillery and all its departments. Act as a point person for all financial, budget, system and process questions. Responsible for creation and maintenance of SOPs for the Cutwater Spirits’ Orchestrated Spirits accounting system; Develop and maintain adequate OrchestratedSpirits ERP knowledge and system maintenance. Ensure proper use of production system at local brewery by all users.
- Leads the month-end close as well as supporting any federal, state, local, or internal audits of company policies, procedures, or transactions; Analyzes major accounts and prepares monthly reconciliation of subsidiary accounts to general ledger.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business or related field.
- CMA, CPA, and/or MBA preferred.
- 4+ years of accounting and analytical experience providing actionable information to senior management.
- Knowledge of the distilling/manufacturing industry (preferred).
- Prior work in cost accounting environment (preferred).
