SALARY: $125,600-$149,150, Bonus and long-term incentive eligible

ROLE SUMMARY:

The Public Policy Analysis Director will analyze proposed legislation, regulations, and public policies to assess their impact on the business, including determining value-at-stake by working with the business. Working closely with stakeholders, the Director will support government affairs teams, develop policy insights, and prepare data-driven materials like presentations and white papers. Key tasks include monitoring policy trends, developing policy arguments, translating complex data into clear visuals, and managing complex projects. The role requires strong skills in Excel, PowerPoint, and ideally Power BI, with excellent communication and research abilities.

JOB RESPONSIBILTIES:

  • Analyze proposed legislation, regulations, and other public policies that might impact the business.
  • Work with the business to determine the value-at-stake of public policy proposals.
  • Support A-B’s government affairs teams as they lobby on priority public policy proposals.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to shape policy objectives, develop expertise in priority areas, and monitor emerging public policy trends.
  • Prepare data-driven materials including presentations, white papers, and infographics for internal briefings and external advocacy efforts.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Be able to analyze and translate complex data into compelling charts, maps, and summary slides;
  • Be willing to take on challenges, including managing complex projects;
  • Have experience reviewing federal and/or state legislation and regulations
  • Have extensive knowledge of Excel and PPT; having experience using Power BI and Excel VBA is a plus;
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills, and able to communicate complex topics simply;
  • Be a self-starter who proactively looks to implement improvements in processes and deliverables;
  • Be passionate about turning data into actionable conclusions;
  • Be a quick learner of new topic areas;
  • Have experience conducting research including measurement and evaluation, and concept and message testing;
  • Have experience interpreting 3rd party studies/data
