Description

In the role of Mold Repair Apprentice, based in Golden, CO, you will inspect, and repair IS machine tooling (molds, blanks, baffles, bottom plates, plungers, blow heads and rings. The Mold Repair Apprentice provides machine shop capabilities and CNC machined parts to the entire plant; upon completion of “tooling repair” certification – may be trained and responsible for ring repair).


The Responsibilities: 

  • Inspects & repairs damaged / worn molds, blanks, guide and neck rings, plungers, bottom plates, and baffles.
  • Actively participates in timely communications between mold shop, forming, inspection and quality department.
  • Assists in the replacement of tooling on the I.S. Machine during job changes.
  • Welds: molds, blanks, baffles, bottom plates.
  • Safely operates sandblasters, cleaning tanks, vibradines.
  • Operates CNC machines.
  • Operates machine shop tools – mills, lathes, presses as required to support plant needs.
  • Observes all company rules concerning safety and housekeeping and consults with specialists and line management to suggest solutions to any associated problems.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned by plant supervision.

Minimum Requirements (knowledge and experience requirements):

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Able to work in a high-pressure production environment.
  • Self-starter, attention to detail, and ability to work in a self-managed team environment.

Job Posting Hourly Rate: $36.25 - $38.35
